June 13 - July 7
Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 7 PM. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM.
The WORLD PREMIERE of a new play developed at The Vineyard Playhouse and based on the history of Chilmark where for almost 200 years a signing community flourished. The inhabitants of this rural island town have lived and grown together for generations. No one even notices that there are so many deaf folks; just seems that’s the way it’s always been. ‘Til one day, two off-islanders arrive, and with a single question, change the community forever.
Performed in two languages - spoken English and American Sign Language. This Island Alone kicks off the summer season on Wednesday June 13 and runs Tuesday to Saturday through July 7.
Read the review in the Martha's Vineyard Times or see the interview with co-writers and directors Catherine Rush and Adrian Blue on Plum TV.
